We are still planning to go ahead with The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe as the second production in the current season with the play run Wednesday 10th to Saturday 13th April* (timed to avoid Easter the following weekend).
We propose to use adult actors in the parts of Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter using characterisation to suggest children. This approach has been used in the professional theatre and will ensure that key roles are available to our actors. We also intend to involve the use of some puppetry, particularly for the role of Aslan.
In order to enable as many as possible to familiarise themselves with the play we plan two further rehearsed play readings starting at 7:30pm on Thursday 8th and Monday 19th November before a casting shortly afterwards on Tuesday 4th December.
Clearly this is an ambitous production (a large cast (nominally 8m 5f) and plenty of technical challanges) but something that we believe will be both challanging and great fun.
We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible!

* Current plans are to bring the timing of the Saturday performance earlier to ~6:00pm to increase accessibility for families.
